In order to prevent processing delays and to give the best possible chance for community members to find each other, it is important to complete the registration process as accurately as possible. Please read the relevant instructions before completing each section.
Former students of Ambassador University and Ambassador College (graduated or
not) are eligible to obtain membership on this website. By submitting this registration form you are claiming to be
a former student of Ambassador.
Please do not attempt to fill out this form for anyone other than yourself. If you feel others would be interested in the site, please refer them to the site and allow them to complete the registration process.
If you choose not to complete optional information, the absence of such information is not displayed on your profile. For instance, if did not complete a degree program and this information is blank, the lables for the degree program information DO NOT show up on your profile either. Inclusion in some lists are based on this information as well - so you will not appear on the Current Location list if you have not entered a city for your current location.

Completing Name, Email & Password Information
Last Name - please use the last name that most people would have known you by during your time at Ambassador. You can think of it as Ambassador Years Last Name For instance, if you were married several years after Ambassador, you might wish to put your maiden name in Last Name and your married name in Additional Name (under Student Years)
Username - please type in FirstnameLastname (with no space
between them). The LastName used in your user name should be the last name you would have been known by during your Ambassador years. For instance, if Jane Doe attended Ambassador and married someone with the last name Smith right after Ambassador. Her username should be specified as JaneDoe. Usernames not formatted this way will be reformatted this way - so it prevents delays if you do it this way from the start ;) Your username is generally not visible to other site users. Usernames are not case sensitive - however they will display with whatever case formatting that you use when creating them.
Secret Question and Secret Answer - this information may be used to validate your identity if you: a) Forget Your Password AND b) have an old or unusable email address on your profile. If you have a valid email on your profile you can use the Forgot Password link on the homepage. More secure question examples include Phone number you remember most from childhood., Place you most liked to go during childhood. If you are unable to access your profile and unable to answer your secret question, we may request that you mail identity verification information before changing the email address on your account. This is for your safety, otherwise any unidentified requester could take over your profile by requesting an email address change.
Backup Email (optional) - you may provide us with a backup email address. It will never be displayed on the site, but may be used to notify you that your primary email address has stopped working. By providing this email address you are also authorizing its usage as a means of contacting you for problems with your profile.

Biography (Optional) - please jot a few notes about what you've been up to. It seems like a hassle, but think about how much you like reading the Biographies when you make yourself take the time!
Alumni I Am Looking For (Optional) - List the name of individuals who you wish to reconnect with. Please do not list general messages such as "anyone who knows me" or "anyone from my class" These general messages encouraging people to contact you can be placed in your biography. Please format names as Lastname, Firstname with only one name per line (press enter to start a new line).
For example: Smith, John

This field is not available during registration - once you have access to the site you can peruse the memberlist. Any alumni you do not find can be added to your profile under "Alumni I Am Looking For" and then they will appear in the "Have You Seen..." list with your name to be contacted.
Alumni I Am Related To (Optional) - You may list the alumni you are related to. This can be very helpful if someone is trying to connect with a relative of yours who is not currently a member of the site. Format names as Firstname Lastname (Relationship) with only one name per line (press enter to start a new line). For example: John Smith (Spouse)
Jane Smith (Daughter)
Other Communities You Can Find Me On (Optional) - Select any other community sites where you have a profile. Other alumni may request to establish a connection with you on these sites.
Linked In Profile Link (Optional) - You may provide a direct link to your linkedin.com profile. These links look like this: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/0/75/ba9. You can discover what yours is by logging into Linkedin. Click the "My Profile" tab. Just about the "Summary" heading you should see a field called "Public Profile" Right click the web link in this field and click "Copy Shortcut" (IE) or "Copy Link Location" (firefox) or something similar for your browser. You can paste the result into this field by pressing CTRL-V or from your browser menu select "Edit => Paste".
Facebook Profile Link (Optional) - You may provide a direct link to your Facebook.com profile. These links look like this: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=999999999. You can discover what yours is by logging into Facebook. Right-click (right mouse button) the word "Profile" near the upper left of your screen and click "Copy Shortcut" (IE) or "Copy Link Location" (firefox) or something similar for your browser. You can paste the result into this field by pressing CTRL-V or from your browser menu select "Edit => Paste".
MySpace.com Profile Link (Optional) - You may provide a direct link to your MySpace.com profile. These links look like this: http://www.myspace.com/textyouconfigure. You can discover what yours is by logging into MySpace. Under the heading "Contacting Your Name" you will see a heading "My Space URL" Drag your mouse pointer across the link under this heading and press "CTRL-C" or select "Edit => Copy" You can paste the result into this field by pressing CTRL-V or from your browser menu select "Edit => Paste".
Degrees Earned At Other Schools (Optional) - You can list degrees you earned before or after Ambassador University. Please format degrees as Year, Degree Type, Degree Field, School Name with only one degree per line (press enter to start a new line). For example: 1997, Masters Degree, Biology, Harvard University

Where did you hear about this site? - Please tell us specifically where you hear about the site. Please list the friend's name or website or search engine that directed you to this site.
Picture Release - authorizing a picture release allows the website to display general historical pictures that contain your image - such as pictures of a group of students on campus. It is not requesting and the site moderators will not post portraits (such as envoy / pictorial pictures). Site moderators will also not post any photo in your profile. Your profile photo is for your personal use.

Completing Student Years Information (MOST REQUIRED) |
Student Pictorial City State/Province/Territory - please list the City State/Province/Territory that was listed for your picture in the student pictorial as your home town. You may not have listed the exact home town you left to come to Ambassador.
Student Pictorial Country - please list the country that was listed for your home country in the student pictorial.
Freshman Year & Freshman Campus - please use calendar years when indicating your Freshman Year. For instance if you arrived on campus in August of 1986, you would select 1986.
Special Entrance Details - if you did not enter as a Freshman in the fall of your listed "First Year", please explain. For example "Spring Admission" or "Entered as Junior".
Last Year - indicate your last year - use calendar, not academic, year.
Campus History (Optional) - If you spent time at multiple Ambassador campuses you can detail which years were spent at which campuses. Indicate each campus with the relevant year range. Please type only one entry per line - press enter to start a new line. For example:

| If you graduated from a degree program, please enter the class and campus where you graduated to be listed with your graduation class. If you completed more than one degree type, please list information for your Bachelor's degree. If you indicate a Graduation Class you must also complete Graduation Campus and Degree Type. If you do not complete all three, no error is generated when you update, but you will not appear on the graduation class list.

Graduation Campus (Not optional if you choose a graduation class, otherwise optional) - please select the Campus location of your graduation class. This value is used to generate graduation class lists - so please only enter it if you graduated with that class.

| If you were a full time employee on an Ambassador campus you can detail which years were spent at which campuses and the department you worked for. Indicate each campus/position combination with the relevant year range. Please only list positions where you were associated with an Ambassador Campus (as opposed to ministry positions held in other geographic regions). Please type only one entry per line - press enter to start a new line. For example:

Current location information is used for Alumni to find out who lives close to them or who might live in an area they plan to travel to. As such it is not intended to provide exact details of where you are. The "Closest Well Known City" approach helps preserve your privacy while still allowing alumni to know enough about your location to contact you if they would like to connect in person.
Current Country Location - If you do not wish your country to be displayed select the first item on the list "Undisclosed"
Closest Well Known City (Optional) - Type in the name of the closest well known city. It is helpful to try to use a city known by others outside your country. Keep in mind that people traveling to your area would browse the list by country and city name, so listing cities that are not well known may prevent non-locals from determining that they are travelling close to you. PLEASE DO NOT abbreviate city names or include other works such as "close to" - just use the city name. You may optionally include state/province/territory names.
Minutes from Well Known City (Optional) - Indicate how many minutes it takes to travel from the center of your chosen Well Known City to your actual location. Travellers to your area would be interested in knowing the time based on the best available options for public or rented transportation.

Please read the folloing important details before you click Send Registration.
- Please be sure your spam filter is set to allow mail from Messages@AmbassadorUniversity.com so that you will receive the activation request email mentioned below. Please read our SPAM FAQ BEFORE clicking Send Registration at http://ambassadoruniversity.com/spamfaq for more information on configuring this. It would be best to do this now, before clicking Send Registration
- Immediately after clicking Send Registration, you will be sent an email titled Please Validate Your Profile Request. You will need to click a link in the email to validate your email address. If you do not click the link in the email, the website moderators will not even know that you have filled out the registration form.
- If you do not receive the activation email, you can have another resent to you by attempting to login to the system. When you attempt to login you will be informed that you cannot AND THE SYSTEM WILL MAIL ANOTHER ACTIVATION EMAIL TO YOU AS WELL. This allows you to keep reconfiguring your spam filter and then having the activation email resent to you.
- If you do not receive the activation email even after several resend attempts, it may mean you have an error in your email address - which may also mean we cannot contact you to let you know. If this occurs you may request deletion of your non-activated profile request via the Contact Us link on the left. Non-activated requests may eventually be purged by a moderator.
- Once you have clicked the activation link in the first email, the moderators for the site will receive your request and process it. If you are approved, you will receive a second notification email to inform you that your request has been approved and you will be able to login to the system at that time.
- There are several reasons why final approval (after you have activated) may take some time. First, we may be backlogged. Second, we may not have reference documents (Envoys/Pictorials) for any of the years you were at Ambassador - we are working hard to complete our collection. If it has been over a month since your submitted your request you may contact us for a status update using the Contact Us link on the left.
